Let's Get Ready to Jungle

Here is a general introduction of my trip. Because I don't really have anything much to do on the train:

My holiday to Madagascar will be 14 (I think!) days of doing stuff, with one day of travel stuck on either end. Madagascar is the forth largest island in the world, and is famed for its unique flora and fauna which developed thanks to it separating and being isolated from mainland Africa hundred of millions of years ago.

The natural stuff, as well as my desire to visit Africa and thus have visited every continent bar Antarctica (though I actually fulfilled this a week ago, visiting Morocco on a cruise with my family) are my main reasons for choosing Madagascar this year. Since Vietnam and Cambodia were very much human based (ie. 90% either current cities or ruins), i decided I want to go somewhere with not a lot of cities to mix it up, and Madagascar fits the bill.

I also chose a trip that involves a lot of trekking (5 nights will be tents), so I will be hanging with the lemurs quite a lot of the time. This also means that often I won't be able to post a blog update every day, as there isn't any wifi in tents, but I am planning on doing the writing as I go, and then uploading when I get to civilisation.

Hope you all enjoy it :)

  1. Sorry to say this but I think I'll enjoy the blog more if I can read it. The white writing against the light wallpaper is not good for my eyesight. Can you modify it please Chris?
